I decided to get one more bike ride in for the year. With temps in the low 40's and winds making the temp feel in the 30's I definitely won't be heading out on a bike again in 2008 unless we get some very unseasonal warming. I decided to check out some recently, opened-to-the-public, hiking and biking trails that happen to be relatively close to my home. In reading up on the Moosic Mountain Preserve, I got the message that most of the trails were, at least, moderately difficult with regards to biking. I figured I'd just stay to the outer trails that were old, abandoned roads as opposed to the single-track trails that went deeper into difficult terrain. However, once there, I was enticed by one of the trails that veered off from the abandoned road I was on. Yeah, I was in way over my head. I spent most of my hour and twenty minutes on the reserve walking my bike instead of riding. At any rate, I did get some exercise and am eager to go back and explore more of the available trails, but next time I will plan on exploring on foot.Tuesday, November 11, 2008

How fun. I wish I were out exploring with you. That trail looks welcoming.
