took a walk with my sister today and we covered three miles. we spent an hour on the distance which is a relatively leisurely pace for me and I realized while I'm not in the shape I'd like to be, I'm not a complete physical wreck either. I sporadically ride my bike, sporadically spend time on the elliptical machine, and sporadically take long walks which all adds up to some semi-regular exercise. there are a lot of people in this world who just couldn't walk for three mile, let alone do so easily. just might be time to cut myself some slack and perhaps in doing so I might find a little extra motivation.

life assessment
i am not in the proper frame of mind for being objective here, so I will keep this short for now. I will be forty this month and I was suppose to be back in shape by the time I reached that milestone. Knowing physical fitness will not be attained in the next two and a half weeks means knowing my goal will not be obtained. Instead of being in the desired best shape of my life I am quite nearly at my worst. So tempting it is to simply give up, but since I’m actually posting something on this terribly neglected blog, I guess I haven’t quite yet accepted defeat.
